Which Concrete Pumping Services To Use

Using concrete when building can require some special equipment. The material can be difficult to handle, but is still a popular choice, so the industry has invented several types of concrete pumps. These concrete pumping services may be the only way to get concrete to the desired location, or they may simply be the most efficient choice.

There are three main kinds of concrete pumps. The first is the boom pump, a large device that is mounted on a truck along with the concrete that it pumps. It has long hoses and an ability to pump long distances, and thus can remain parked in the same place while pumping concrete to many different places. This enables maximum efficiency.

A line pump is a portable device that can be moved around to reach various sites. It can also pump grout, mortar and other wet materials, which makes it more versatile than a boom pump. However, it is not a self-contained unit, and the concrete it pumps must be mixed and stored elsewhere on the job site. It does make a great tool for a job site with multiple locations that need concrete pumped to them, though, as it is very portable.

A separate placing boom is a special, high capacity pump that can be placed where a boom truck might not be able to reach, and deliver the same kind of power. It is not very portable, as it must be fixed to the building framework while being used, but it is a great device for high capacity concrete delivery, like the kind used to make concrete slabs.

Depending on what you need from it, you might choose a different concrete pumping services than the next job manager. Some of these services are more full-service, where they supply and work the equipment, whereas others might be mostly rental companies. The rental companies only supply the equipment and you must find someone to work and drive them.

When choosing a pump, you’ll need to consider what kind of concrete you want to use. The wrong pump and the wrong concrete can be a disastrous mix, so if the kind of pump you chose doesn’t work with the kind of concrete you chose, reconsider one or both choices.

Before the job starts, consider how much pump you need. Output rates give a theoretical amount of concrete the pump can deliver in a certain amount of time, but realistic output will vary depending on the situation and the type of concrete used. Don’t use a high output pump for a light detail job, as it might be hard to handle, and don’t choose a low output pump for a big job where that might mean wasting hours or even days.

If you rent the Concrete Pumping Ontario equipment, remember to check if you need a special driver’s license to drive a boom truck, or a vehicle other than the ones you own to tow a line or separate placing boom. If you don’t have these things, you’ll need to look into getting them, or maybe using a more full-service company that will drive the trucks and pump the concrete for you.
